The Birth of Glass Connections

Glass Connections grew out of the loss of a very special person in my life, my grandfather.

A few months after loosing my grandfather, I was approached by my aunt to create a memorial piece. She was curious if I could incorporate some of my grandfathers ashes into a pendant. I thought about her request for a while, before deciding on a design. I chose to make hollow teardrop pendants for each of my aunts and uncles, and a hollow heart shaped pendant for my grandmother; each pendant containing a small amount of my grandfathers ashes.

I brought the pendants with me to our family Christmas and handed one to each of my family members, many of whom had known nothing of my project. Their reactions were of awe, amazement, and gratitude. There were more than a few tears shed that day.

My aunt Laura in particular was especially moved by the gesture. It means the world to her to be able to keep her father close. She often wears the pendant, and has told me that it lifts her spirits when she does.

It meant the world to me to be able to do this for my family. I know that my Grandfather is looking down on me, and this venture with a loving heart and open arms. I know he would be both honored and proud to have been my inspiration.

My promise to you

It is my promise to you that the greatest of care will be taken throughout the entire encasement process, and that your loved one’s remains will be handled with the utmost respect while in my care. I know how important your personalized memorial piece is to you, and I am honored to be able to provide this service to you and your family.

Sincerely,
Hawk Iamon
